Know the Reasons Why Galaxy S8 is Better than Galaxy S9

Samsung introduced new flagships of their Brand – Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus to compete with iPhones. Let’s do a comparison between the new Samsung Galaxy S9 and last year’s Samsung Galaxy S8.

Samsung Galaxy S9 is out now but it is not much different from Samsung Galaxy S8. Though Galaxy S9 features a state-of-the-art camera and faster processor, Galaxy S8 is still an exceptional smartphone that is a better choice than Galaxy S9.

Galaxy S9 is Expensive.

Galaxy S9 starts at $720 while Galaxy S8 started at $725 last year. Galaxy S9 Plus starts at $840 while Galaxy S8 Plus started at $825. There’s not much difference in price, but you can still save a bit. The experience with the new smartphone is nearly equal to the last year’s Samsung Galaxy S8.

Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 have the same screen size and resolution.

There is no upgrade of Galaxy S9 from Galaxy S8 in terms of screen size and resolution. Just like the Galaxy S9, Galaxy S8 has 5.8- inch AMOLED display and 18:9 aspect ratio. The Galaxy S8 Plus has 6.2- inch AMOLED display and 18:9 aspect ratio, it is the same with the Galaxy S9 Plus.

Galaxy S9 has smaller bezels and it can view the whole interface in landscape orientation.

Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 have the same design, almost.

There is not much difference in design between Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Samsung Galaxy S8. They both have a reflective glass back, a rear fingerprint sensor, and an aluminum strip along the edge.

The smartphones support IP68 certification for dust or water resistance. They can be submerged up to 1.5 meters in 30 minutes and there will be no damage to the phones.

Though Galaxy S9 is heavier, a bit shorter and wider than Galaxy 9 they almost have the same design.

Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 support wireless and fast charging.

Charging stands cost from $40 to $70. Wireless chargers don’t come with the phones but, Samsung has few wireless-charging stands that work with smartphones that supports wireless charging.

Both Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S8 support wireless charging and charge fast with wired chargers or wireless chargers.

Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 have unbelievable and nearly equal battery life.   

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S9 the same battery capacity with 3,000 mAh. The Plus Models also have 3,000 mAh of battery capacity.

Though Galaxy S8 can last up to 20 hours and Galaxy S9 can last up to 22 hours of talk time. Galaxy S8 can last up to 44 hours and Galaxy S9 can last up to 48 hours of MP3 audio playback, and Galaxy S8 can last up to 14 hours and Galaxy S9 can last up to 16 hours of video playback and Wi-Fi use that is not a major difference, right?

Galaxy S8 has more color options than Galaxy S9.

Samsung Galaxy S8 has six color options (Arctic Silver, Coral Blue, Maple Gold, Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Rose Pink). While Samsung Galaxy S9 offers three colors (Coral Blue, Lilac Purple, Midnight Black.)
