Nokia 8 Review: A Smartphone worth waiting for

Nokia is now back in the game! Nokia launched its newest android smartphone flagship, Nokia 8. And guess what, it is going to be more stunning than ever.

Actually, Nokia’s newest smartphone flagship isn’t their first Android smartphone. The company has already launched their very own smartphone such as the Nokia 3, the mid-range Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. However, the Nokia 8 is perhaps the most significant smartphone they have created. It is believed to compete with iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S8, and the likes.

The physical look of Nokia 8 is very sleek and chic. It is perfectly slim with mere 7.3mm thick, and fantastically made from aluminum, this gives it an eccentric solidity in the hand. It’s oblique edges and arched sides ensure that it stays comfortably in the hand, and it gives you comfort in accessing the fingerprint reader even without adjusting your palm.

The screen of the Nokia 8 measures 5.13in across the diagonal, is a decent size for any smartphone. It has a super-high 2,560 x 4,440 resolution that converts to a perfectly crisp 554ppi. The said smartphone is also bright, hitting a striking 663cd/m2, this makes every display looks alive and so vibrant. Nokia 8 has a Gorilla Glass 5 to protect its screen from accidental drops without shattering.

NOKIA 8: Performance and Battery Life Review

Just like any other new flagships of smartphones, Nokia 8 has also the best supporting hardware. Nokia 8 has an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and 4GB full RAM.

When it comes to battery life, the manufacturer of Nokia 8 incorporated “advanced heat management solution”. This is an internal liquid-cooling system that is developed to drive heat away from the phone’s chipset. The manufacturer wants to extend the battery life of the phone by putting the heat levels to a minimum.

NOKIA 8: Camera Review

The rear camera of Nokia 8 has a 13-megapixel camera that is made by Zeiss. The camera has a f/2.0 monochrome sensor which is used to achieve finely detailed images. Because of the two sensors, a final image that has a sharp detail and vibrant color are created.

Nokia 8’s front camera also has a 13-megapixel sensor. And this is what’s intriguing about this phone’s camera. It is possible for you to activate both the front and rear camera at once. Nokia termed this as “Bothie” – referring to having selfie on both cameras. The result of the image is both the scene that is in front of you and the scene at the rear side. This feature is also applicable for video capturing.

NOKIA 8: Verdict

Nokia 8 is unquestionably an eye-catching and powerful smartphone. It has a lot of amazing quality such as a high-resolution screen, amazing battery life, and impressive camera. The price of Nokia 8 is undoubtedly competitive with other phones too. The phone has 64GB of onboard storage, which can be expanded by up to 256GB via a microSD slot.

The Nokia 8 is certainly a worthy rival to all the well-known smartphone giants. It may not establish again the status of Nokia before, but I think the launching of Nokia 8 will surely be a very good step for them to bringing up the fame they already have before.
