Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 officially announced: Bezel-less design, refined
October 2016, Xiaomi surprised the globe when they revealed the Mi MIX with bezel less design and after that the idea of putting up bezel less design storm out across the mobile technology. This year, many flagships being released adapted the new design with minimum bezels and thinner footprint.
It’s been a year when Xiaomi released their last flagship and they are now ready to join the competition for phone design domination. Today they revealed their new flagship known as the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2.
According to Xiaomi, Mi MIX 2 will be coming out with two versions, the regular and special version with additional memory and luxurious design.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 seems the same with its forerunner, with 5.99 display screen covered by 151.8 x 75.5 x 7.7 aluminum alloy frame and ceramic back curved on its four sides. The two Xiaomi versions will be featuring an 18K gold plated ring on its camera.
The Mi MIX 2 chin has been reduced by 12% that is why it has more visually balanced design. Xiaomi also put proximity sensor and call speaker as a twist for the new Mi MIX 2. These elements are placed on the upper side of the device.
The Mi MIX 2 would be equipped by Snapdragon 835 as its processor, just like the different flagships that was currently released in the market. It has also an internal storage of 6GB RAM and expandable memory of 64, 128 and 256GB. It has well sized battery of 3400 mAh and a built in technology of Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0.
In terms of its security it has a fingerprint sensor, located at the backside of the device just like the previous Mi MIX, unfortunately Mi MIX 2 won’t be having headphone jack. But in this device Xiaomi will be introducing a Bluetooth 5.0 so that the user would be able to play audio and they can try experience the best wireless audio. There is also a USB port for charging and wired audio located at the base of the device.
The original Mi MIX sports a 16MP but the latest Mi MIX will only having a 12MP for its rear camera but the difference is it would be using large 1.25μm px to shoot more light. The user should be able capture clearer photos because it has four-axis optical image stabilization. While its front camera is place at the bottom of the device and it’s smaller compared to the previous device and makes more space for the screen. The front camera can shoot 5MP and can capture a high quality video. It has also face recognition and selfie timer so that capture anytime you want.
Xiaomi will be using MIUI 9 for Mi MIX 2 and it will be having a variety of new features. MIUI 9 offers a feature just like quick reply and multi window and this is based on Android Nougat (7.0 version) and as of now there are no updates if they will be using Android 8.0.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 will cost $506 for 64GB, $552 for 128GB and $613 for 256, while the special edition will cost $720 which still cheaper compared to other devices. When it comes to its availability, Xiaomi did not announce any update yet, but there is a possibility that it will be only available in China and some of its nearby countries.
